Copyright & Licensing Policy
The AJMS Copyright and Licensing Policy explains copyright ownership, the Creative Commons licence applied to published articles, author reuse and repository rights, third-party permissions, and the copyright notice used for the Version of Record.
1. Copyright Ownership
After acceptance, the author or other lawful copyright holder completes the AJMS Author Declaration and Copyright Transfer Agreement. Upon publication, copyright in the published Version of Record transfers to the Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI), which may publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, preserve, index, disseminate, license, and protect the article in accordance with journal policies.
2. Open Access Licence
AJMS articles are made immediately and permanently available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International licence. Users may copy and redistribute the unchanged article for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution. Commercial use and distribution of modified, adapted, translated, remixed, or derivative versions require additional permission.
3. Required Copyright and Licence Notice
The article webpage and published PDF should display a clear copyright and licence statement using the actual year of publication, identifying CRI as copyright holder and linking to the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence.
4. Author Rights and Scholarly Reuse
Authors may cite, discuss, and reuse their work in later scholarly activity in ways consistent with the copyright transfer agreement and licence. The Open Access Policy explains repository deposit rights for submitted manuscripts, accepted manuscripts, and the published Version of Record.
5. Version of Record Sharing
When the Version of Record is shared or deposited, it should remain unmodified and retain the complete citation, DOI or permanent link, copyright notice, licence information, and acknowledgement of AJMS and CRI as the original publication.
6. Third-Party Material and Permissions
Authors are responsible for identifying third-party material and obtaining any permissions required for publication and reuse. A Creative Commons licence applied to the AJMS article does not automatically grant rights over third-party material that is separately credited or excluded from the licence.
7. Author Declaration, Preservation and Related Policies
Authors should complete the Copyright Form as required. Copyright and licensing operate together with the Open Access Policy, Publication Ethics, and digital-preservation arrangements described by AJMS.
